Melt zone

Say, looks like China’s got a hedged bet on the whole global warming thing,  banking on an Arctic trade route with the financially crippled Iceland as a way station along the way, so reports the March 22 issue of Newsweek. (Not online yet, but this looks like a go-live link within the next couple of days.) Yes, the trail’s already been blazed and China’s ponying up $300 million for a new icebreaker, Newsweek reports, article here.
I’m sure that China is also eyeing Iceland’s natural resources (heck, American firms are), which will likely become more accessible, given the predicted snow melt and all. And just how valuable is our climate  — and the air that we breathe — as a natural resource? Some vids for thought:
