Creepy Web 2.0 news update: Milstein pleads guilty to harassment

Jonathan Milstein, a former Wash. assistant attorney general, pleaded guilty to telephone harassment today, according to a story in the Seattle PI.  The 41-year-old, who arranged to have couples call his reporter wife’s former colleague for sex — often when the woman’s husband was out of town — was sentenced to 240 hours of community service.

A story excerpt:

In a letter to the court, the victim said she saw Milstein walking his dog by her home several times after he had moved to Kirkland. One caller wanted to meet on her wedding anniversary and knew the date. The victim said the investigation showed that Milstein often logged onto the Web sites between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

“He directed dozens of disturbing calls to me that were calculated, continuous and very scary. I would usually be home alone caring for my two toddlers when Jonathan would ask someone to call me…the callers would try to talk to me about pornographic, disgusting acts he told them I wanted to engage in,” the letter said.

Again, what’s wrong with people? And is 240 hours of community service really enough when he anonymously terrified a woman for years?

Again, I don’t get it.
