Check out this walkability report, from WalkScore.com. Redding earns an 89 – on a 100-point scale (higher is better and more walkable). It’s not bad, really, but I wonder if that scale factors in triple-digit summers. Still, it’s nice to get off the gas and stretch the legs. Some towns, like my hometown of Yucaipa, are nearly impossible to step through in a pedestrian mode. Dad’s home, for instance, earns a 17 on the same 100-point scale.
